Consent is not enough to stop violence in the bedroom

Another name, another vigil, another news cycle, another tragedy of gender-based violence. In the last year alone the UK has seen the stories of Zara Aleena, Sabina Nessa, Ashling Murphy, Sarah Everard, Bibaa Henry, Nicole Smallman, and many more, make frontpage news. But, in spite of the vast public appetite for change on this issue, we see the same old conversations rehashed time and time again: how women can reduce their chance of becoming a victim.
